Every company has a story to tell. For more than 15 years, I have enabled clients to reach their audiences through news media, social media, events and print collateral. My experience in strategic communications has given me the ability to finesse a client’s message, get a reporter’s attention, and reach audiences through both online and print, as well as radio and TV.
I am an independent public relations practitioner specializing in strategic communications, media relations and writing. My diverse client base spans private companies as well as non-profit organizations. I have served as a publicist for consumer events including the State Fair of Virginia, Eastern Idaho State Fair and Special Olympics Wyoming, leading the PR/communications to bring awareness and support to these annual events. I have worked with CPA firm Piascik & Associates, as well as other financial services firms to position them as premier service providers within their target business and consumer audiences.
I have worked with non-profits including Bon Secours Richmond Health System, YMCA of Greater Richmond and Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic.
With consumer products, I have experience bringing new products to the public marketplace and positioning the client’s overall brand, through my experience on PR initiatives with Hamilton Beach-Proctor Silex and Braun, Inc. I also have brought brand recognition for national home builder Centex, through PR tactics and initiatives.
My client base is diverse, and it comes with success. In addition to local market media placements, I’ve landed clients in leading publications including Self, Real Simple, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, MSNBC, theStreet.com, Epicurious.com, CountyFairgrounds.net, the Washington Post, Marketing Daily, AdWeek, Modern Healthcare, Wyoming Public Radio, World Trade and many more.
In addition, I often have worked in partnership with a variety of advertising and creative agencies, to implement public relations initiatives for the agency itself, as well as their clients.
I established Campbell Communications in 2002, following seven years at The Martin Agency in Richmond, Virginia. Before that, I spent five years in Washington, DC, as a writer for The Nature Conservancy and the Council of Chief State School Officers. I am a graduate of Denison University in Granville, Ohio, with a B.A. in English Literature.
